Introduction:- What is Computer Networks?
Networks is a group o computer and Devices Connected together. Networked environments enable Sharing of resources such as files. Printers, Programs, Storage Disk, etc
Nowadays Modern Networking Practices, Connectivity can be provided to different types of portable devices such as Tablets, PCs, Notebooks, PDAs, Digital Cameras, Portable MP3 Players, Smartphones, Home Entertainment Devices Such as IP, TVs, Videos Players, Recorders, Stereos, Radios, and also Monitoring or sensor Devices.
A Computer-Based Network is broadly Divided into three categories. Each network type possesses Different applicability and functionality, Discussed in detail in this Section
LAN – (Local Area Network)
The Local Area Network is a common Network domain that connects a group of Computers Systems and Network devices in a smaller range of areas, Usually within a Building, Either through Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet.
- Fast Ethernet: it Supports a Speed of up to 100 Mbps
- Gigabit Ethernet: Supports a Speed of up to 1000 Mbps
MAN – ( Metropolitan Area Network )
The MAN covers a larger ranger of Networks that allows connectivity Between or more Different buildings within an area of a city.
WAN – ( Wide Area Network )
WAN is a Method of communication between two or more different Geographical Location through services providers (ISP) With high-Speed Technology. WAN connects Multiple LANs through an established network (Internet). Which is relatively expensive in cost.
